And Then There Were Three

March 27th, 2019

It's episode 22 of K Band Radio! The crew of the ¡Smash N Grab! finally reach Nybil and drop off their adolescent godling. Recovery, rest, and rewards follow, but does the Confession of Usko accept Static Six as their first non-Usk deity? When the crew decides to move on from religious pursuits, Aleph pops in to shepherd them onto their next spy assignment. It's as vague as you would expect.

This episode sets up our transition to Scum and Villainy. Tune in to find out a little more about our zoomed in setting as we lock into a smaller sector of space known as the Signos Cluster.

Trap Fidget

February 27th, 2019

K Band Radio diverts the crew of the ¡Smash N Grab! into a stealth mission to steal "dark jump maps" from a pirate asteroid party. As the crew traverses the maze of connected ships and asteroids to find a pop-up bar Chengbert has been questing after, we get a deeper look into the Skull Smasher pirate fleet and a deeper look at the depths the crew will go to for shenanigans.  Do they buy, steal, or smash the star charts out of the pirates' hands?

If you haven't already, leave us a review on iTunes and we'll write and produce a special episode using anapestic tetrameter. If you think that's a dumb idea, email me at gm@kbandradio.com and let me know.

Also, if you want some merch, check out our little TeePublic shop.

Finally, the flashback music in this episode was created by Joel Allard, and the Trap Fidget music was created by Brian Shaffer. Let them know if you liked it!

Is Laser a Tag?

February 13th, 2019

Episode 19 of K Band Radio jumps straight into the action as mysterious invaders assault the planet Leche. The crew attempts to make it back to the ¡Smash N Grab! and get their new passengers off the planet safely. Does everyone make it out alive? Does Frank421 accept a divine geas? Is there any altruism on this team at all? Listen to find out.

Let's give major props to Joel on the sound effects and original music in this episode. He put in a lot of work on this one, and it shows.

Finally, this is our last chance to remind you that Ken and Brian are running several games at Con of the North the weekend of Feb 15-17. If you can make it to the convention in Plymouth, MN, stop by the table to say "Hi!"

Ice Cream Date!

January 30th, 2019

Chengbert Flackway falls in love with ice cream in episode 18 of K Band Radio. Frank421 lands the ¡Smash N Grab! on the planet Leche in the Waterstone Beta District for some much needed repairs and resupply. Varg Landicrue's contact Terrim Piff helps with their shopping list as everyone settles down for a much needed week of rest and relaxation. Who is this mysterious duo the crew agrees to take to the capitol planet of the Confession of Usko?

Feet! Feet! Feet! Feet!

January 16th, 2019

We get the full crew back together in Episode 17 of K Band Radio. The characters discover just what is waiting for them in the cavernous amphitheater everyone stumbled into. Fortunately, they make it back to the ¡Smash N Grab! and bring along a guest. We introduce two new factions to the mix. Fang Lunis screws with Varg Landicrue's DNA. Frank421 blames Varg for everything. Varg tries to get Marmoney Peaks and the rest of the crew to quit. Chengbert Flackway decides to seek vengeance for the destruction of Captopass.

In this episode, we have two major announcements. First, if you give us 50 iTunes reviews, we will write and record an episode using anapestic tetrameter, the meter made famous by Dr. Seuss. Second, Ken and Brian will be running some games at Con of the North in Minneapolis this February. Several of the games will be creating setting elements to use in the show! Join us for some fun games. Oh, and shenanigans. There are always shenanigans.

January 2nd, 2019

Episode 16 is our final solo adventure, and we showcase Justin as Fang Lunis in this one. The other crew members of the ¡Smash N Grab! have woken up in various times and places after the failed wild jump to Jammy. Leave it to the crew's mad scientist to wake up in an entirely different body. Fang sees what's left in the wake of a ¡Smash N Grab! repo job first hand and can't avoid wrecking the situation even further. Find out how and learn a little bit more about the Ashefa, Maxistential Blaster's people.

Once again, Brian pushes the TeePublic site in the end roll. We use the proceeds from shirts and stuff for other promotional materials and ads to grow our audience. We make the show because we're having fun. We also love attention, though. Help us share our fun with the world!

All of the sound effects and music in this episode were created by Joel Allard. Thanks Joel!

Tomorrow’s You, Today

December 19th, 2018

In episode 15 of K Band Radio, we see what happened to Varg Landicrue after the failed wild jump. Waking up in customs and immigration, Varg is confused to find himself on Jammy ready to deliver a mysterious package. When faced with a moral conundrum from his past, Varg takes the easy way out. Charming his way through the Civilization Reformation Association doesn't go as planned and Varg faces the very real possibility of becoming a new citizen.

Once again, I plug our TeePublic page in the end roll. Here's the link.

NOTE: Brian knows the difference between flora (plants) and fauna (animals). He just got it wrong once because sometimes the brain shuts off but the mouth keeps going. It's like when the audio keeps going on a YouTube or Netflix stream even though the video has stopped.

All of the sound effects and music in this episode were created by Joel Allard. Thanks Joel!

It's episode 14 of K Band Radio, and things are getting steamy. Frank421 struggles with the question of love when finds himself stranded on the ¡Smash N Grab! alone with Harvey Splice. Brenden and Brian play Star-Crossed by Alex Roberts to build romantic tension between man and AI. Find out how the characters' forbidden passion turns out when the Jenga tower falls.

NOTE: We struggle with gender pronouns for Harvey Splice in this episode because neither of us has a non-gendered AI in our lives to normalize against. We found that referring to a sentient NPC as "it" seemed dismissive and unconsciously returned to the he/him/his pronouns we associate with a masculine name like Harvey. Once Harvey Splice identifies which pronouns to use, we will not embarrass ourselves any further.

We use a song available on ccmixter in this episode to add a little love to our tower pulls. Here is the information for the tune.
